First Review – The Historian By: Elizabeth Kostova

Being that The Historian is one of my all time favorites, I feel the need to review it before I review anything else. This book truly felt like an adventure. Almost the same as one of those classic adventure games, where the overall mystery drags you forward and you unravel clue after clue alongside the characters. This was a book I could not put down, the kind of book that deprives you of sleep until you finish the journey. I’ve read this twice since enjoying it for the first time and I know I will be reading it again. The characters, the setting and the descriptions are all spectacular. The history and research that went into this novel are amazing. This is the perfect book for a stormy day, curled up on the couch or a hot summer day sitting outside. Simply an awesome book.
