On The Book Thief – Again

I still find myself zoning out and thinking about this book. It was fantastic and haunting. If you haven’t read it, you really should.

Here are a couple of quotes from the book that I just loved:

“Trust me, though, the words were on their way, and when they arrived, Liesel would hold them in her hands like the clouds, and she would wring them out like rain.”
Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

“One was a book thief. The other stole the sky.”
Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

“…there would be punishment and pain, and there would be happiness, too. That was writing.”
Markus Zusak

The Book Thief By: Markus Zusak

I’ve been trying to think of exactly what to say about this book. I still haven’t come up with the right words. But this book is brilliant. It was sad and dark, but there was also hope. This book was masterfully written and unlike anything I have ever read before. I now fully understand why so many people love it. This is a book to savor, to treasure and to dwell on long after you’ve read it. Haven’t read it yet? Do it. You won’t regret it.

Also! Being made into a movie. I will definitely watch it.
