Vespertine by: Margaret Rogerson

Another great book by Margaret Rogerson. I absolutely fell in love with her writing when I read Sorcery if Thorns and this book was just as amazing. She has amazing world building skills and her character development is always great! I loved Artemisia and her story. The revenant was very well written and the story moved at a wonderful pace. There was a wonderful set of side characters as well that kept the story moving. The banter in this book was excellent as well and there was humor laced throughout. This is a world k very much want to read more about and I believe this is going to be a duology, which is awesome! And the cover! Charlie Bowater always does amazing cover art. Love it.

Send Me Their Souls by: Sara Wolf

What an exciting finish to the series! I love these books from the start. The main character is feisty and very sarcastic, which I love. She was strong but flawed and it made her more relatable. The side characters were all amazing as well and wonderfully written. This is a world that clearly shows not everything is black and white. Sometimes people do terrible things for reasons they think are good. I’m looking forward to whatever this author brings to the table next. And that cover! It’s amazing!

The Memory of Babel By: Christelle Dabos

I’ve been looking forward to reading this book since I finished The Missing of Clairdelune. I was very excited to start it! I loved every single moment of this book. It was perfect and everything I was hoping it would be. The ending of The Missing of Clairedelune was an intense cliffhanger and I’ve been very impatiently waiting for this book. I was struck once again by the pure imagination in this story. Christelle Dabos is a brilliant storyteller and everything about the world she created is interesting. The characters are wonderful and varied and I found each one of them brought something important to the story. Ophelia is, of course, my favorite. A flawed character and not the typical type of heroine, but she fits this story perfectly. If you enjoyed the first two books, you will definitely love this installment as well. I can’t wait for the fourth book! But I know I have to wait longer than usual, since it will have to be translated. The moment I can read it, I will. I already have this one on pre-order for when it is released in September and then I want to re-read all three back to back. I love this series and it will always be a favorite.

The Memory of Babel: Book Three of The Mirror Visitor Quartet

Crown of Coral and Pearl By: Mara Rutherford

Firstly, the cover is lovely as is the title. I was intrigued right away and then even more so when I read the description. And I am truly glad I read this one! I was hooked immediately by the characters and the setting. The dynamic between the sisters was wonderfully done and you could really feel their love for each other. The setting was beautifully described, the sun, the heat, the saltiness of the ocean. It was all perfect. It doesn’t take long for the story to really pick up, either, and once it did it was impossible to put down. The story takes a darker turn, but it is well worth the read. Nor is an amazing and strong main character and I liked her a lot. The only thing about this book was that I found the ending to be rather abrupt and felt it could have been fleshed out a bit more, but otherwise this was just a great read! Highly recommend.

Hardcover

A Sorcery of Thorns by: Margaret Rogerson

I loved this. I loved this so much. I had previously read An Enchantment of Ravens and enjoyed that greatly, but this book was so much more. A book about sorcery, libraries and magical books. Did I mention magical books? This book is a fantasy and book-lover’s dream. It at once had mystery, fantasy, a lovely romance and just the right amount of suspense. Also Silas. He was amazing. Such a well done character. All the characters were well done, but he truly stood out and was extremely well written I enjoyed this book so much. I am definitely going to buy myself a copy when it is released. I would also buy this for friends as a gift ’cause I feel like anyone that loves books and magic would adore this book as much as I did.

Sorcery of Thorns

Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom By: Leigh Bardugo

I can’t honestly remember if I already reviewed Six of Crows or not. But either way, I’ll just do it again. After having absolutely loved Leigh Bardugo’s other series, I was excited to try this one. At first I wasn’t quite sure what to think. The characters in the story were so varied, so different from her other books. Also, none of them are quite decent people. So at first it was strange for me to connect with them, but it didn’t take long before I fell in love with the story anyway. The characters were flawed, realistically so. They were by no means perfect, but it made them endearing and I came to love them all. I read through the first book quickly and then had to wait that dreadfully long year for the next one, which I snatched up.

The second book has a marvelous cover and red around the edges, which at first I though would be distracting but it really wasn’t. This book was better than the first and just so full! The characters developed immensely, the romances were believable and greatly done, and the story progressed in such a way that was unpredictable and kept me reading non-stop. I’m very excited for the next book and any other books from this author! Also there were lots of feels!

Read these books guys, dooo it.

The Summoning By: Kelley Armstrong

I found this book for a dollar at the thrift store, hoping it might prove to be an entertaining read. Turned out it was! I spent the last week readingĀ  the whole trilogy and I was not disappointed at all. At first, I was not very fond of the main character Chloe, but she grew on me. There was definite character development in this series and I was very impressed. The story is fast paced and very enjoyable. If you are looking for an entertaining YA Supernatural series, I would recommend this one.

The next two in the trilogy are:

The Awakening

The Reckoning
